What is POINT U?

VGMU is an internet based "college" for our industry:

  • Orthotic and Prosthetic-specific training courses written by industry professionals
  • Continuing Education delivered to your desk
  • 24/7 access to courses
  • Individual records

POINT U is a continuously growing institution that will help Members remain at the forefront of industry knowledge and keep them on top of continuing education requirements.

When can we begin using it?

Right away!  POINT U is a continuous project. Those who are enrolled will be notified of course offerings as they become available through various channels of communication.

How can POINT U help me in my present job and prepare me for promotion within my company?

POINT U provides a comprehensive knowledge-base for both new employees and seasoned veterans alike.  POINT U's curriculum is set to include courses designed to prepare employees for future promotions within their company. Grow your career with POINT U!

How does POINT U fit within my other training programs?

POINT U courses provide up-to-date information that all employees need to be successful in their jobs. 

POINT U fills a need for subject knowledge in core areas and is strategically placed alongside other training opportunities you provide.

How often are new courses published?

POINT U has two associates who work in the publishing process of new POINT U courses. As new courses become available to us from industry experts, these associates work to convert them into a format compatible with the POINT U platform. Once this process is completed, the course becomes available to managers to assign to students immediately.

How much does it cost?

POINT U pricing is charged monthly and varies based on the number of employees using the system. This monthly charge covers unlimited usage and unlimited amount of courses available for employees to use. Click here to go to the fee schedule. 

Why should I invest in online education for my staff?

As a comprehensive online resource, POINT U is designed to complement other training opportunities you provide your employees. POINT U courses provide up-to-date information that all of your employees need to be successful in their jobs. POINT U fills a need for subject knowledge in core areas and is designed to prepare your employees for advancement within your company.

How many courses can I take during the month?

One of the benefits of POITN U is that there is no limit to the number of courses that a student can take during a month. All users enjoy unlimited course access every month.

How many people in my office can be enrolled in POINT U?

All employees at your main office and branch locations can be enrolled in POINT U!

Are these courses approved for CEU’s?

Yes! VGM Education is an approved provider of CEU’s through IACET (International Association of Continuing Education and Training). IACET CEU’s can be submitted to many credentialing bodies such as ABC and BOC.

Will I receive a certificate of completion once I finish a course?

Yes! Each time a student successfully passes a POINT U course, he or she is given the opportunity to print a Certificate of Completion. Many POINT U students use this certificate as proof of completion for job reviews and Continuing Education Credit.

How do I log in?

Enter your Login ID and Password provided to you by your company’s POINT U manager. Remember, your password is case sensitive and must be at least five characters long (letters and/or numbers). 

You can change your password after initial login, but if you change it, make sure it’s to something easily remembered. If you have forgotten your password, contact your company’s POINT U manager or call VGM Education at 866-227-8171.

How long does it take to complete a course?

All POINT U courses are designed for the “average” student to complete in about an hour. Actual time to complete a course depends on a number of factors, including individual student knowledge and course complexity.

Who writes the courses?

POINT works regularly with an elite group of well-known industry experts, all of whom are participating POINT consultants

OPGA participating vendors also lend their expertise to us in creating courses for the University. In addition, a select few employees at POINT have written courses pertaining to an area of their expertise such as HIPAA, finances, or government relations.

How will I be billed?

Members will be billed monthly on their POINT  statement. Any non-member will be invoiced on a monthly basis.
